A Comforting Kind of Shame, an essay in Rust Belt Chic

An essay examining the role of place – Youngstown, Ohio, in my case – in the formation of identity. The book also includes essays by Pulitzer-Prize winner Connie Schultz and nationally known food writer Michael Ruhlman. The book, “Rust Belt Chic: The Cleveland Anthology,” was edited by Richey Piiparinen and Anne Trubek and published in 2012.
